Towards the end of 2021, we were on the search for an escape, a haven that would be small enough to easily maintain, with a tropical outdoor space where we could kick back and enjoy with our family. The moment we walked into the Florida Room at the Casita, we knew this was the house! It had all the charm and tranquility of Old Florida yet, an 8 minute drive to the beach, half a mile to the local Hallandale Beach strip malls with a large variety of grocery stores, international cafes, starbucks, walmart, banks, pubs, as well as home to Gulf Stream Park - a renowned horserace track.  We also love that it is a 8 minute drive south to Aventura with its trendy restaurants, Whole Foods and upscale mall. We are a 45 minute drive to Miami and everything it has to offer. If heading north, it's a 5 minute drive to artsy Hollywood and 20 minute drive to Fort Lauderdale. 

 

We named our new home Casita Mariposa! After all, we have year round butterflies. When decorating the house, as a Set Decorator and Interior Designer, Priscilla drew on inspiration from the mix of Spanish, Caribbean, coastal styled homes in South Florida she visited while growing up in Miami, but with a brighter modern flair. It provides us with an ambience for a tropical escape indoors and out. As world travelers we understand the desire to retreat to a unique, beautiful, clean space after a day of exploring. We are thrilled for the opportunity to share our tropical escapist experience with you!
